Part of the review of the concert from the Dorset  Echo. Written by NORMAN HARTLEY.

The concert opened in tribute to Queen Elizabeth’s 90th birthday – starting with a rousing fanfare, specially composed for the occasion by Concert Brass’s director Kevin Goodwin, which immediately established a sense of occasion.

An enjoyable sunny day in Torquay at the West of England brass band championship.

The band gave a good performance and although there were some good comments from the adjudicators and the British Bandsmen Remarks"Lots to commend in a well-measured reading from Weymouth Concert Brass. Just the occasional loss of focus may cost a few places but a good show" The results were disappointing coming 15 out of 18. The band however, going by other results, think they have done enough to stay in the 3rd section and improve on this year's results.

The band relaxing before and after the contest. Preparing on the stage. Torquay seafront
